NICE TO MEET YOU —

I’m Makenna.

I am a love and lifestyle photographer based in Southern California.

I am a sucker for nostalgia and will never let a good aesthetic go unappreciated. Some things that keep me inspired and full of joy are traveling near and far, all kinds of live music, time outdoors, and spending quality time with my wonderful husband, friends, and family.

For me, photography is not just a picture but rather a way to make art out of life in all its frames. I’m a firm believer that approaching photography with spontaneity and using the environment around me to get creative leads to capturing the most unique and authentic imagery. My knack for photography is an ever-growing obsession that has allowed me to capture countless faces, places, and feelings. Over time, photography has led me to focus on the souls in a season of celebrating love.

Whether it be a wedding, elopement, engagement, or couple session, I am for the authentic, intimate moments that can be turned into tangible memories to reflect and reminisce on for the years to come.

  • This contact form is a great way for me to get to know you. This is your opportunity to share any and all details and questions you may have and share your vision for your session.

  • Following my response to your contact form, we will discuss dates, details, and everything in between. It is important to me that we are on the same page before, during, and after your special occasion to ensure you feel comfortable, confident, and get the most out of this experience.

  • If you decide I am the perfect third wheel for your special day, we will follow up with completion of contract, deposit, and a fun questionnaire that will help me get to know you better and get a vivid idea of your vision for your photography session. Now, let the fun begin!

  • "What is your shooting style?"

    My style is emotive, candid, and whimsical. My approach is to get to know you and make you feel comfortable so that I can authentically capture your essence in each photo. Every person is different therefore every session is different. I’m all for a good pose and pretty smile, but I am always drawn to capturing the raw moments and feeling that make up that mark in time.

  • "What is your turnaround time?"

    Typically 2-3 weeks for lifestyle and engagement sessions and between 5 and 7 weeks for weddings and elopements. I will always get your photos back to you as soon as possible without compromising the quality of my work.

  • "Will I get sneak peeks?"

    I provide sneak peeks for weddings and elopements within a few days. 

  • "Do you travel for weddings and other shoots?"

    Absolutely! Traveling has always been a source of inspiration and creativity for me. In order to do so, my travel costs — flight, stay, rental car — must be covered. If you are planning a destination wedding or elopement, please contact me for a custom quote.

  • "Can you photoshop me?"

    Apart from skin blemishes or anything temporary that is typically not there, I do not alter the way you look. I promote body positivity and self love, but if you are especially self conscious about something please let me know so I can be more mindful when posing you.

  • What if I’m awkward?

    More often than not, I get this question. My goal is to get to know you and make you feel comfortable and confident beginning to end. I want the energy in the photos to reflect the individuality of the people in front of the lens. I direct when necessary, but as cliche as it is, just be you. Even if you feel awkward, I promise you’ll never be able tell from your photos.
